School Council
Your voice. Your School. Your Council.
Our School Council is made up of one child from each class in the school. Each year, children are nominated by their classmates to become their class representative and share their views and ideas with the School Council.
Our School Councillors play an important role in making our school a better place. They organise activities to raise money for the school, work alongside teachers on school improvement, PTA, and help make sure that pupils’ voices are heard.
Every classroom has a School Council Suggestions Box, where children can share their ideas, suggestions and things they would like to see changed or improved in school. The School Councillors regularly collect these suggestions and share them with the School Council and staff.
School Councillors are always available to listen to ideas, suggestions and concerns from any child in the school.
What previous School Council's have achieved π
π Buddy Bench
We introduced Buddy Benches to our playgrounds — a special place where anyone who is feeling lonely or looking for someone to play with can sit. It helps students make new friends and reminds everyone that there is always someone to talk to.
π New Playground Equipment
We helped bring new playground equipment to our school, giving students more opportunities to play, have fun and stay active during break times.
π§ Cake Sales
We organised cake sales to raise money for school projects. Thank you to everyone who baked, bought and donated cakes and helped make our fundraising a success!
π Move-a-thons
We also held exciting Move-a-thon events, getting the school councillors active while raising money for our school. It was a fantastic way to bring the school community together and have fun at the same time!
π Bee-Friendly School
Working with Miss Berte to make our school more welcoming to bees and other wildlife. Previous councillors also took part in nature walks, exploring and learning more about the natural world around us. Their hard work helped our school achieve the Gold Bee Friendly Award! πΌπ
We’re proud to build on the work of previous School Councils and look forward to creating our own achievements! π
